Kumaradhara Theertham
Kumaradhara Theertham, located in the holy town of Tirumala, holds immense significance for devotees visiting the renowned Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. This natural spring is believed to be a divine creation and is revered for its purifying properties.
It is believed that Lord Venkateswara himself appeared here to bless the sage Kumaradhwaja, who was performing intense penance. The theertham is said to have miraculous healing powers and is considered sacred for performing ancestral rites.
Devotees often take a dip in the holy waters to cleanse themselves of sins and seek spiritual rejuvenation. The tranquil surroundings and the soothing sound of the flowing water create a serene environment for meditation and introspection.
How to Reach Kumaradhara Theertham
Theertham is situated at the foothills of the Seshachalam Hills, approximately 2 kilometers from the main temple complex. It is easily accessible by road and is a popular spot for pilgrims and tourists alike.
People who are overweight, have asthma, heart-related issues, or other chronic illnesses, along with young children and the elderly, are not allowed to walk through the forest route to reach this Theertham for their safety. Devotees are only allowed to travel by RTC buses from Gogarbham to Papavinasanam. Private vehicles are not permitted due to traffic congestion. Devotees are requested to keep this in mind. Security personnel will be present from Papavinasanam to Kumaradhara Theertham to ensure there are no issues, and strict security measures will be in place.
Drinking water will be made available along the way. Under the supervision of the Annaprasadam department, arrangements will be made at Papavinasanam Dam to provide milk, coffee, upma, pongal, pulihora, sambar rice, and curd rice to devotees from 5 AM onwards. Private organizations and individuals are not allowed to offer food donations. The Engineering department will set up necessary sheds, stairs, and drinking water taps along the way. Ambulances, doctors, paramedical staff, and necessary medicines will be available for emergencies.
Timings of Kumaradhara Theertham
The theertham is open to visitors from 6 AM to 12 noon every day. occasionally allowed.
