Pranadana Trust – Apanna Hrudaya Scheme: ₹1 Lakh Donation & TTD Break Darshan Guide

apanna-hrudaya-scheme

Most pilgrims who ask us about break darshan have never heard of the Apanna Hrudaya scheme. Of all the donation routes at Tirumala, this is the one where your money does the most visible good: ₹1 lakh pays for one child’s heart surgery, in full, at TTD’s own children’s heart hospital in Tirupati. TTD offers a VIP Break darshan for your generous contribution towards a Child Heart Surgery. Below is the complete process, screen by screen, exactly as it appears on the TTD portal.

A separate quota — this is what makes the scheme worth knowing. The break darshan quota under Apanna Hrudaya is held apart from the SRIVANI Trust quota. So on a date, where SRIVANI break darshan tickets are sold out, this scheme can still have slots open — often for travel just one or two days away. For a family that has had to travel at short notice, that difference matters more than anything

What the Apanna Hrudaya Scheme Actually Funds

Sri Venkateswara Apanna Hrudaya is a scheme run under the Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust. It aims to treat children with congenital heart disease at Sri Padmavathi Children Heart Centre, Tirupati — a facility established with 70 beds, 40 ICU care beds, 3 laminar flow operation theatres, a catheterisation lab and advanced diagnostic equipment.

Donations meet the recurring cost of each cardiac surgery or intervention. The child’s family pays nothing. Income tax benefit applies under the Non Corpus head, and companies can route CSR funds into it.

What the Donor Receives — and What They Don’t

It is worth reading carefully before you donate:

  • One-time break darshan for 5 (five) members, one time only — irrespective of the donation amount for ₹1 lakh and above. Donating ₹2 lakh does not get you ten members or two visits.
  • Lifetime validity, but a single use. The donation never lapses — there is no deadline by which you must travel, and you can claim it years after donating. Read “lifetime” correctly, though: it describes how long you have to use the benefit, not how often. The VIP break darshan can be availed only once in your lifetime, and once claimed, that is the end of it.
  • 80G income-tax exemption. Keep your PAN handy.
  • Uniform Privileges do NOT apply to the Apanna Hrudaya scheme. This is a one time benefit scheme. You will not get any yearly benefits.

Eligibility: the main donor must be an Indian resident — the portal requires that declaration, and it is the one condition with no flexibility. The other four members may be Indian residents, NRIs or foreign nationals, so a family spread across countries can still take darshan together.

If what you actually want is a comparison of every break darshan route, our VIP break darshan guide sets them side by side, and the SRIVANI trust page covers the far cheaper ₹10,000 route.

Apanna Hrudaya Scheme Donation — Step by Step with Screenshots

The donation should be made only on TTD’s official booking portal — https://tirupatibalaji.ap.gov.in/#/userLogin  There is no agent, app or authorised third party for this. Create your profile and log in first.

Step 1 — Select Other Trust Donations

After logging in, look for the Pilgrim Services panel. Select Other Trust Donations.

On the Pilgrim Services dashboard, choose Other Trust Donations — not Srivani Trust Donations, which is a different scheme.

Step 2 — Select Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust – Apanna Hrudaya Scheme

The List of Trusts appears on the left. Find Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust — it expands to show two options, and you must pick the second one, Sri Venkateswara Apanna Hrudaya Scheme. Choosing the parent trust instead is the single most common mistake here, and it does not carry the break darshan benefit. The panel on the right confirms you have the correct scheme. Click Continue to Donate.

Apanna Hrudaya Scheme Selection
Under Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust, expand it and select Sri Venkateswara Apanna Hrudaya Scheme, then click Continue to Donate.

Step 3 — Read the Break Darshan Conditions

An information box appears. Read it rather than dismissing it — this is where TTD states that the benefit is five members, one time only, regardless of how much above ₹1 lakh you give, Click OK.

Step 4 — Check Darshan Availability Before You Pay

This is the most valuable step on the page and the easiest one to miss. The donation form carries a small click here to check Darshan Availability link. Use it before you pay — the money is non-refundable, so you want to know your dates work first.

On the donation form, use the click here to check Darshan Availability link before entering anything else.

The availability calendar covers roughly 3 months ahead. Green means available, red means quota full, blue means the quota has not been released yet, and grey means no slot.

Clicking any green date shows the exact quota left for that day — in this example, 6 VIP break darshan tickets were available for 22nd July.

Click a green date and the calendar tells you precisely how many tickets remain. Daily 40 tickets will be issued under this quota. Dates in blue simply have not opened yet, so if your travel is further out, check back rather than assuming it is closed.

Step 5 — Enter the Donation Details

Select Non Corpus, tick the donation checkbox, and enter 100000 in the Amount field. Tick the citizenship declaration — this applies to the main donor, who must be an Indian resident. Note the four points printed below the form: clicking Continue authorises TTD to use your Aadhaar for verification; privilege validity is 20 years for individuals and 15 years for institutions; and break darshan validity runs lifetime from the donation date for ₹1 lakh and above — that is the window in which to claim your single visit.

Step 6 — Accept the Conditions

Tick the agreement box and click Agreed.

Scroll through the conditions, tick I/We Agree to the above conditions, then click Agreed.

Step 7 — Confirm the Donation Letter

The portal drafts a formal letter addressed to the Chief Accounts Officer, TTD, Room No. 71, TTD Administrative Building, K.T. Road, Tirupati – 517501. Read your name, address, contact number and receipt number carefully — this is what the 80G certificate will be issued against, and corrections afterwards mean a trip to the Donor Cell. The letter confirms the donation goes towards the Apanna Hrudaya Scheme under SV Pranadana Trust only. Click Confirm.

The system generates a letter to the Chief Accounts Officer confirming the ₹1,00,000 contribution. Check your details, then click Confirm.

Step 8 — Pay

All debit cards, credit cards and net banking are accepted. TTD helpfully displays the average success rate beside each gateway; pick the one rated higher on the day. Once you click Pay Now, do not refresh or hit the back button until the confirmation page loads — an interrupted transaction on an amount this size is a slow thing to sort out.

Choose the Federal or HDFC payment gateway, then click Pay Now.

Step 9 – Redeem Privileges – Get Your VIP Break Darshan Ticket

After Donation payment is done, Visit “Privilege Redemption” in home screen and proceed to select the darshan date and enter the 5 persons details and make payment of Rs. 2500 and download your darshan ticket.

Donating Offline

If you would rather do this in person, donations are accepted at the TTD Administrative Building on K.T. Road, Tirupati, by demand draft or cheque drawn in favour of the trust. For anything unclear, the Donor Cell at Tirumala can be reached at [email protected] or 0877-2263001.

What to Carry on Darshan Day

  • Two passport-size photographs and original photo ID, as required in the donation conditions.
  • The original donor passbook or receipt — not a photocopy or a phone photo.
  • Original photo ID for every member of the group, not just the donor.
  • Traditional dress, per the usual Tirumala dress code.

Everything else worth packing is in our Tirumala checklist.

Is This the Right Route for You?

If your aim is simply a comfortable darshan, ₹1 lakh is a very expensive way to buy one — the ₹300 Special Entry Darshan booked three months ahead serves you better for a fraction of it, and SRIVANI is cheaper again. Remember too that this is a single visit, not a standing arrangement: it will not get you into Tirumala the next time you come.

But if you were going to give to the Lord anyway — many families do, after a wish is fulfilled — this scheme is among the most direct ways to see where the money lands. A child who could not have afforded surgery receives one. The break darshan that follows is TTD’s way of thanking you, and that is the right order to think about it in.

Common Questions

Is this quota the same as the SRIVANI one?
No, and that is the single most useful thing to know about this scheme. The quotas are separate. Though SRIVANI quota VIP Break darshan tickets are sold out, this schema will have availability, its worth checking it, before postponing your travel.

Can I choose the darshan date? Check availability on the portal before donating and plan around the green dates.

Does the break darshan expire? No — there is no deadline by which you must travel. The portal puts the validity as lifetime from the donation date for ₹1 lakh and above, so you may claim it whenever it suits your family. But once the darshan date is confirmed, you cannot cancel it. Rescheduling will be as per TTD’s terms.

So can I use it every year for life? No, and this is where people get confused. “Lifetime” is the window in which you may claim it, not the number of times. The VIP break darshan can be availed only once in your lifetime. After that single visit, the entitlement is spent.

If I donate more than ₹1 lakh, do I get more members? No. It is five members, one time, irrespective of the amount above ₹1 lakh.

Can NRIs or foreign nationals be included? The donation itself must be made by an Indian resident — the citizenship declaration on the form applies to the main donor. The remaining four members may be Indian residents, NRIs or foreign nationals.

Do I get laddus, vastram and the donor privilege card? No — Uniform Privileges are explicitly excluded from this scheme. Those belong to the general slabs on our TTD trusts and schemes page.

Is the donation refundable? No. Confirm your details before paying.

Is there a cheaper way to get break darshan? Yes — see the break darshan guide.
