TTD Room Allotment Process in Tirumala

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has streamlined the accommodation process for pilgrims through a network of Sub-Enquiry Offices, doing away with the long waits that once defined room allotment at the Central Reception Office (CRO). The new system is designed to make securing a room faster, fairer and far less stressful for devotees visiting Tirumala.

Registration Starts at the Central Reception Office

The process begins at the CRO in Tirumala, which opens daily at 5:00 a.m. Registrations continue throughout the day as long as rooms remain available. Pilgrims need to bring their original Aadhaar Card or a photocopy along with a valid mobile number to the registration counter. The counter uses a Face Recognition System to complete registration, after which pilgrims can select their preferred room category. Category A covers Rs. 50 and Rs. 100 rooms, while Category B offers rooms priced at Rs. 1,000. Once registration is complete, an acknowledgement slip is issued, and pilgrims waiting in line have access to drinking water, Annaprasadam and toilet facilities near the queue.

Who Can Apply for a Room

TTD has set clear eligibility rules to keep the system fair and orderly. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, and anyone who has already been allotted a room cannot apply for another within 30 days. Only one member per family should stand in the queue, and rooms are not allotted to single individuals or unmarried persons.

Tracking the Allotment and Making Payment

After registration, the pilgrim’s registration number appears on the display boards at the CRO. Once it shows up, an SMS with the allotted room details is sent within 15 minutes. If the message doesn’t arrive despite the number being displayed, pilgrims can scan their acknowledgement slip at the Kiosk Machines available at the CRO to check the room details directly. The next step is visiting the assigned Sub-Enquiry Office to pay the room tariff, which must be done through online modes only, such as PhonePe, Google Pay, UPI, credit card or debit card. Room keys are handed over only after the payment is confirmed.

Sub-Enquiry Offices Across Tirumala

TTD operates several Sub-Enquiry Offices where pilgrims can complete their stay formalities, including Anjanadri Nagar Cottages, Seshadri Nagar Cottages, Shankhumitta Cottages, Garudadri Nagar Cottages, Hill View Cottages, Sudarsanam Choultry, Govardhan Choultry, Kalyani Choultry, Sapthagiri Rest House, Ram Bagicha Rest House-II, Varaha Swamy Rest House-I and II, Ashta Vinayaka Rest House, Kousthubham Rest House, Panchajanyam Rest House, Mathrusri Vakulamatha Rest House, Nandakam Rest House and Surapuram Thota.

Stay Duration and Tariff Rules

Rooms are allotted strictly for 24 hours. If a pilgrim’s stay extends beyond that, the tariff rises to 200%, and if it crosses 48 hours, the charge increases to 400%. Pilgrims are encouraged to plan their stay within the allotted window to avoid extra costs.

Guidelines Pilgrims Should Follow

TTD asks all pilgrims to be mindful of shared resources and community spaces during their stay. This includes avoiding wastage of water and electricity, and refraining from carrying plastic water bottles into Tirumala, since they are prohibited. Pilgrims should use the water jugs and glasses provided and keep them clean, and separate wet and dry waste into the designated bins. Personal belongings remain the pilgrim’s own responsibility throughout the stay.

The room must be vacated by the same person to whom it was originally allotted; failing to do so means the caution deposit will not be refunded. Transferring an allotted room to another person is strictly prohibited, and violators will face strict action.
