Tirumala Extra Laddu
Almost everyone who has darshan at Tirumala wants to carry a few extra laddus home for family and friends. You can buy them at the laddu counter, but there are two rules that catch pilgrims out: how many you are allowed, and how long you have to collect them.

Tirumala Extra Laddu Collection — You Have 24 Hours
This is the rule most pilgrims do not know, and it is the one that costs them their prasadam.
You must collect your laddus within 24 hours of your darshan time. After that window they are not issued at all.
Looking for a room in Tirupati?
There is no exception once the 24 hours have passed, so do not plan to finish darshan on one day and pick up the laddus on your way out of Tirumala two days later. Collect them before you leave.
Tirumala Extra Laddu Counter Timings
The laddu counters are open 24 hours. Whatever time your darshan finishes, day or night, the counter will be open when you come out.
That is worth remembering if you have a very late or very early darshan slot — there is no need to wait until morning, and waiting could push you past the 24-hour collection window.
How Many Extra Laddus Can You Get?
The limit is not fixed. It depends on how busy Tirumala is on the day:
- Normal days: up to 10 extra laddus per person.
- Festival season and peak rush: usually 2 to 4 per person.
The lower festival limit is deliberate. When lakhs of pilgrims arrive together, TTD caps the number so that everybody in the queue gets laddus rather than the early arrivals taking them all. If you are travelling during Brahmotsavam, Vaikunta Ekadashi or a long weekend, plan for the smaller number.
Tirumala Extra Laddu Cost
- Each extra laddu costs Rs. 50.
- You pay at the laddu counter itself.
- This is separate from the laddus included with your darshan or seva ticket.
Where Is the Tirumala Extra Laddu Counter?
The counter is about a 2 minute walk from the exit point of the temple, behind Pushkarini. You will pass it on your way out after darshan, so there is no need to go looking for it separately.
Planning Your Collection
Put the laddu counter into your plan rather than treating it as an afterthought. A simple order of events works best:
- Finish darshan and note the time. Your 24 hours starts from then.
- Walk out through the exit and go straight to the counter behind Pushkarini.
- Pay for any extras you want at Rs. 50 each, within whatever limit applies that day.
- Carry them with you. Do not plan to return for them the next evening.
Because the counters run round the clock, there is never a reason to postpone collection to the next morning. Pilgrims who do postpone are the ones who lose their laddus.
Can You Buy Tirumala Laddu Online?
No. Online purchase and delivery is not available for Tirumala laddu, and no website or app sells genuine Tirumala laddu for delivery. Anyone offering to courier them to you is not authorised by TTD.
Full details are on our page covering laddu entitlement for Rs. 300 and seva ticket holders.
