Counter timing is changing daily this season; call 155257 the day before.

Quick Answer: SSD (Slotted Sarva Darshan) token counters in Tirupati are at 3 locations — Srinivasam Complex, Vishnu Nivasam, and Bhudevi Complex. Counters open at 1:15 PM daily, though pilgrims start lining up from 9–10 AM. Tokens are issued for next-day darshan. Aadhaar card is mandatory for everyone aged 12 and above; children below 12 do not need a token or Aadhaar.

💡 Example: How the “Next-Day” Token Actually Works

Counters currently open in the afternoon, so you can join the queue and collect your token on the same day. For example: if you stand in the queue line on Thursday around 9–10 AM, you will get your token around Thursday 1:15 PM — and since tokens are for next-day darshan, that token will be valid for darshan on Friday. Always check the counter’s current opening time on this page before planning your queue timing.

🚫 SSD Counters Closed Every Wednesday — No Tokens for Thursday

SSD token counters do not issue tokens on Wednesdays, so there are no SSD tokens for Thursday darshan. If you are visiting on a Thursday, you can still have darshan through the free Sarva Darshan queue (no token needed) — but be prepared for a long wait of around 12–18 hours on Thursdays.

🪔 Festival Days — SSD Tokens May Not Be Available

Vaikunta Ekadashi: SSD tokens are cancelled during Vaikunta Ekadashi. Darshan in this period runs on a completely separate booking process and timeline — see our Vaikunta Ekadashi darshan guide before you plan.

Brahmotsavam: SSD token counters are usually closed for part of Brahmotsavam and reopen once the festival days end. The exact dates are decided each year and are announced only shortly beforehand, so if your trip falls during Brahmotsavam, confirm with the TTD helpline 155257 close to your travel date.

What is SSD – Slotted Sarva Darshan?

Sarva Darshan is the free darshan facility at Sri Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala. It allows all devotees to have darshan of Lord Balaji without paying any fees.

There are two types of free darshan:

FeatureSSD (Slotted Sarva Darshan)Free Sarva Darshan (No Token)
CostFreeFree
Token required?Yes — offline at counterNo
Where to queue?Vaikuntam Queue Complex II (SSD lane)Vaikuntam Queue Complex I or II (general lane)
Waiting time at Tirumala3–6 hours (shorter lane)8–24 hours (general crowd)
Online booking? No — only offline at counterNo — walk in directly
Advance booking?Yes — token for next dayNo advance booking

Recommendation: SSD tokens give you a specific slot time which significantly reduces your waiting time at Tirumala compared to the general free darshan queue. Always try to get SSD tokens on the evening before your planned darshan day.

How to Get SSD Tokens from the SSD Token Counters – Step by Step

  1. Choose a counter. Srinivasam Complex, Vishnu Nivasam or Bhudevi Complex. If you are walking up by Srivari Mettu, go to Bhudevi Complex, the only counter that issues Srivari Mettu tokens.
  2. Check the opening time and work back from your darshan day. Use the timings table above. Tokens are for next-day darshan, so the example at the top of this page shows which night to queue.
  3. Carry original Aadhaar cards. Everyone aged 12 and above needs one. Children below 12 do not need a token.
  4. Bring the whole family to the queue. One token is issued per person, and everyone must be present in the line.
  5. Collect your tokens and keep them safe. About 10,000 general SSD tokens are issued each day in total, and once they are gone the counters stop, so don’t leave it late.
  6. On darshan day, go to Tirumala at your slot time and join the SSD lane at Vaikuntam Queue Complex II.

With a general SSD token you can walk up by Alipiri or by Srivari Mettu, or travel by road. It is not scanned anywhere on the way, and you go straight into the SSD queue line. A Srivari Mettu token works differently: you must walk up that footpath on your darshan date and get the token scanned midway, or it is not valid.

No SSD tokens are issued on Wednesdays for Thursday darshan, and there is no online booking.

SSD Token Counters – Frequently Asked Questions

Do the SSD token counters open at the same time every day?
Not always. TTD sets the opening time and changes it with the crowd on the day, so treat the timings on this page as the usual pattern rather than a guarantee.

Can I collect laddus after SSD darshan?
Yes, from the laddu counter, which is open 24 hours. Collect within 24 hours of your darshan time, because after that they are not issued.

Where can I get SSD tokens in Tirupati?
SSD tokens are available at 3 locations: Srinivasam Complex (near bus stand), Vishnu Nivasam (near railway station), and Bhudevi Complex (near Alipiri). All open at 1:15 PM daily, though the queue starts forming from 9–10 AM.

What time do SSD token counters open in Tirupati?
All SSD token counters open at 1:15 PM. The queue starts forming well before that — many pilgrims are in line by 9–10 AM, and on weekends some arrive even earlier to be sure of a token.

How many hours does sarva darshan take with SSD token?
Weekdays: approximately 3–5 hours at Tirumala. Weekends: 4–6 hours. Festival days can take much longer.

Can we book sarva darshan tokens online?
No. SSD tokens are only issued offline at the 3 counter locations in Tirupati. All family members must be physically present in the queue.

What documents are needed for SSD tokens?
Original Aadhaar card is mandatory for everyone aged 12 and above. Children below 12 years do not need a token.

Is there a charge for sarva darshan?
No. SSD tokens and sarva darshan are completely free. You only need to pay for optional services like prasadam, accommodations, or paid sevas.

How many SSD tokens are issued per day?
About 12,000 SSD tokens are issued each day: about 10,000 general SSD tokens, plus about 2,000 extra Srivari Mettu tokens that are issued only at Bhudevi Complex.

Where can I get Srivari Mettu (Divya Darshan) tokens?
Only at Bhudevi Complex, beside Alipiri Bus Stand. They are not issued at Srinivasam or Vishnu Nivasam, and like SSD tokens they are for next-day darshan. They also come with a condition: you must walk up the Srivari Mettu footpath on your darshan date and get the token scanned midway, otherwise it is not valid.

🏨 Book a Room Before Your SSD Darshan

SSD tokens are issued for next-day darshan, so plan on at least one night’s stay. The token queue forms hours before the counters open, and staying close to a counter saves you a tiring journey to the queue — Srinivasam and Vishnu Nivasam, both TTD rest houses in Tirupati, have counters right there. Once you have your token, a room on Tirumala hill can make the next day’s darshan easier.

💡 Counters open at 1:15 PM (queue forms from 9–10 AM) — staying nearby means less travel stress and a better shot at getting a token before they run out.
