Kanjanoor Temple Deity – Agneeswarar
Agneeswarar is the main deity at the Kanjanoor Temple. Kanjanur is the sthalam of Sukran. There is no separate shrine for Sukran, he is believed to be residing in the stomach of Shiva. Legend says that Agni had worshipped Lord Shiva here hence the name Agneeswarar came. Karpagambal is the wife of Agneeswarar. Scroll below to know the Kanjanoor Temple Timings. Â This temple is in the village of Kanjanur, 18 kilometres north-east of Kumbakonam.
It is believed that lord Bramha installed Linga here and offered prayers hence it is believed that its Bramha Linga.
Kalathira Dosha nivarana pooja is the famous pooja that is being performed in this temple.
