Agastheswara Swamy Temple – Thondavada

Agastheswara Swamy temple, Thondavada is one of the ancient Shiva Temple and it is believed to be installed by Sage Agastya, son of Urvashi. Lord Siva Adobe on the Banks of Rivers Swarnamukhi and Kalyani. Here Parvati devi is worshipped as Anandavalli.

History

As per Legends, After getting married lord Srinivasa being told by sage Agasthya stayed at his ashram. He performed Nityapoojas to Lord Shiva in this place, which is nothing but present-day “Mukkoti Agasthyeswara swami temple”. Sage Agasthya performed penance here for Lord Shiva and caused the origin of river ” Swarnamukhi ” from this place.
