Penchalakona temple is located at 70KM from Nellore is amidst lush trees and water falls. It is a very popular temple in that area. The original name PenuSila Kona (Penu = big; Sila= stone; Kona= forest) got transformed as Penchala Kona. The presiding deity in this shrine is Lord Lakshmi Narasimha along with His consort Chenchu Lakshmi. It is believed that Lord Narasimha, after killing Hiranya Kashipa, took bath in the tank close by and attained tranquility.
