Architecture

The style in which Birla Mandir, Hyderabad is built is a blend of both North and South Indian style of temple architecture. The ‘Gopuram’ of the temple shows the features of a South Indian Temple. The ‘Jagadananda Vimanam’ built at the top of sanctum sanctorum resembles the Oriya style of temple architecture. It took ten years to complete the temple. Scenes of the Indian Epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata are carved on the walls and the ceiling of the Mandir or temple. Statues of different deities from Hindu mythology can be found from beginning of the entrance up to sanctum sanctorum.
