Infant Darshan at Tirumala (many pilgrims search for it as Tirupati infant darshan) is a free, separate darshan for parents carrying a baby below one year, so you do not have to stand in the long queue with a small child. The facility is at the Tirumala temple on the hill above Tirupati. This page covers who is allowed, the documents to carry, the timings and where to report, how long it takes, and the rules that surprise people, such as the 30-day gap and the days when it is stopped.

Who Is Allowed With the Baby
The facility is meant for the family of a child below 1 year. Along with the baby, the mother, the father and a sibling below 12 years are allowed. Grandparents and other relatives are not allowed on this route. If grandparents are travelling with you, they will need to take the regular darshan, so plan who goes where before you reach Tirumala.
What If Your Baby Is Over 1 Year?
Infant Darshan entry is not allowed once the baby is more than 1 year old. If the baby is only a few days past the first birthday, say 1 to 10 days, you can request entry, but it is not guaranteed. It depends on the person inspecting at the entry point. We recommend that you do not choose this option if your baby is already beyond 1 year, because you may be turned back at the gate. A 1-year-old or a child below 2 years should be taken through the regular darshan queue instead, so read the types of darshan in Tirumala and plan the day around it.
Documents to Carry
- Proof of the baby’s age: the birth certificate, or the discharge summary from the hospital.
- Aadhaar card of the parents. This is mandatory.
Keep these in a folder you can reach quickly. You will be asked for them at the entry point, and fumbling for papers while carrying a baby is no fun.
