Thulabharam at Tirumala

Weighing place (Thulabharam)

Thulabharam / The balance is seen near the Tirumalaraya mandapam. In sanksrit the balance is called “Tula”. In olden days the kings used to perform “Tulapurushadanam”. The devotees pay money as they wished to offer when their diseases are cured, and are blessed with children. The money equivalent to their weight or to their children’s weight is weighed and submitted to swami. If needs be, the TTD will provide coins. The secret of Thulabhara is not mere submission of the coins. At the time of entry into the temple every devotee will have to judge for himself. The main purpose of temple entry is to maintain equanimity of mind. “Equanimity of mind is the Sun and Substance of all Vedas”, said Annamayya ‘Samabuddhe yandariki sarva vedasaramu’.

  • Sir,I want to give a tulabaram to my son.now he is 14kg,for 1rs coin .how much amount I need to pay

    • It would be around Rs. 3000. We suggest to carry some extra money as the prices would have revised

    • Advance booking facility is not there. you can go in any darshan queue line and after entering temple premises, you can find the thulabaram counter beside dwaja sthambham . you can deviate from your darshan queue line and finish thulabaram process and join back the queue line for darshan.

  • 2 of my family member booked kalyanotsavam ticket and 2 of my family member booked special entry ticket in Jan 2025. We are planning do thulabaram for new born girl. Can we all able to meet thulabaram place ?

    • its not possible. both of you will be entering from different gates and would be allowed in different timings. so all of you meeting at one place is not possible.

  • I want to do thulabharam offer for myself and my weight is 70kg?

What will be the cost for my weight if i choose ghee?
should i bring ghee by myself as per my weight

    • Approximate cost would be Rs. 35000. Actual price may be lower or higher.
TTD will display on board the approximate cost for each litre of ghee. As per your weight they will calculate the amount. You can pay that amount and get a receipt.
You no need to bring any ghee.
Based on the item, they will tell the price.

  • Hello,
For infant tulabharam, do I have to first take the ₹300 ticket and then go in queue, perform tulabharam and then join the ₹300 queue again?? Or if I perform tulabharam I don’t have to get any tickets? Please clarify.

    • For Infant and his / her parents entry is through supadham gate, you dont need to buy Rs. 300 tickets. Only father, mother and infant would be allowed. while entering main temple, on the left side of Dwajastambham you can find the Thulabaram counter, just deviate from your darshan line and get the thulabaram done and join the queue line back and have darshan.
Timings for infant entry is 12 PM to 6 PM.

  • I have to perform coconut tolabharan of my 11 yr old girl. Do I need to make booking or any procedure needed prior.

I also need spl darshan tickets, in NXT upcoming week probably after 10th April.

    Kindly reply

    • Call us on 9110583839 to explain about tulabaram procedure and available options for darshan

  • Hi sir our family members are about to give two thulabaram to my 11month baby by this month
Is that all my family members (7Nos )are allowed to go through infant dharshan line

Is there any procedure to get my family members along with baby in infant dharshan line

    Please let me know

    • Your family members cannot come in infant queue line. If everyone has to go together then options are like take any seva tickets like kalyanotsavam, unjal seva, arjitha bramhotsavam or sahasra deepalankara seva so that they will get supadham entry ( for infant darshan also it's supadham entry). But those seva tickets are sold out till April end. You can plan for may. Or other options is everyone has to go in 300 special entry darshan queue line by purchasing tickets.
