Puligundu – Best Sunrise Trekking Spot

Puligundu

Puligundu Rock is a fascinating natural wonder that attracts both adventure seekers and spiritual pilgrims. Located about 18 kilometers from Chittoor, this dual rock formation stands tall at approximately 1000 feet above ground level. The unique shape of the hilltop, resembling a Siva Lingam, adds to its mystical allure.

Residents from nearby villages come to perform special pujas on Makara Sankranthi at the Puli Gunteswara Shiva temple situated at the base of the rock formation.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Puligundu Rock is during the early morning or late afternoon. Early mornings offer a pleasant climate and a chance to witness the sunrise from the summit, while late afternoons provide a cooler trekking experience. Avoid visiting during the peak summer months (March to May) as the temperatures can be quite high.

To witness the beautiful Sunrise you can stay at APTDC Haritha Hotel at night and go for Trek in the early morning.
