Ramakrishna Theertham

Ramakrishna Theertham is a sacred water body in Tirumala. It is one of the seven holy theerthams in Tirumala, and it is believed to have the power to cleanse the sins of those who take a bath in it on a full moon day with the Pushyami star in the month of Makara (January). The theertham is named after a sage named Ramakrishna, who performed penance here for centuries and was blessed by Lord Vishnu. There is also a temple of Sri Rama and Sri Krishna near the theertham, which was consecrated by the same sage.

How to Reach Ramakrishna Theertham

  • From Tirumala Bus stand Buses will be available to transport the pilgrims to Papavinasanam. From there we need the trek the path. Footwear is prefarable.
  • Carry Water bottle.
  • Advisable not to plan with children below 10 years and age above 50 years as it takes long hours of trekking and the path will not be smooth.
  • Food and Water will be provided by the TTD.

Timings of Ramakrishna Theertham

It will be open only once in a year. The devotees will be allowed to trek the torrent path only from 5 AM onwards till 12 Noon on that day, so that they can return back by evening.
