The locals believe that the Seven Bricks of this cave temple are the incarnations of “Saptha Matrukas” – Brahmi, Indrani, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Maheshwari, and Chamundi as mentioned in the Puranas. They are known locally as Saptha Gangammas or Eduguru Akkagarlu.

They also believe that these deities are the sisters of Sri Venkateswara Swamy and protect the pilgrims traveling to Tirumala, helping them reach their destination safely and avoiding accidents or incidents on their journey.

• Akkagarla Temple is located near Avvachary kona Valley in the First ghat road.
• It can visited by the pilgrims who walks through Alipiri Footpath.
• Pilgrims going in vehicles can also watch the temple while coming from Tirumala to Tirupati.

TTD Transport department will perform special puja during karthika Masam to these folk deities cave temple, which is located near the Avvachary Kona Valley that has a picturesque landscape.
